Brookes Entrepreneurs (BE) is the business society of Oxford Brookes University that aims to promote entrepreneurship among the students within the university.

The committee is run by a team of experienced and passionate students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and with different interests, making it a very exciting place to work in. The committee members work together regularly to ensure that several events are organised throughout the year and that BE lives up to the highest expectations of all BE members.

A brief description of the committee members can be found below.

John Randall, President

Since a young age John has been interested in entrepreneurship and currently studies Business Innovation & Enterprise at Brookes. At age 15 he launched his first business, JV Bouncy Castle Hire, whichnow fully funds his university experience. After his second year at Brookes, John completed a placement year at PayPal within their Business Development department. He had a particular focus on the business services and interaction with SMEs and has continued this interest by being part of the Brookes Entrepreneurs team. Rebecca Anne Hunter, Vice President

Rebecca is a second year Business and Marketing Management Undergraduate. She has been on the Brookes Entrepreneurs committee for twelve months and is currently the society’s Vice-President. Jon Moorer, Events Director

After quitting school once obtaining his GCSE’s, Jon quickly became involved in his father’s restaurant, Bambuddha Grove. Starting off as a temporary job, he quickly found his passion in business. After 5 years Jon wanted to broaden his prospects and applied to Brookes. Someday he hopes to enter the consultancy industry.

Nick Gale, Marketing Director

Nick has always been interested in business and entrepreneurship, and has experimented with a number of business ideas. His current venture is Pubsofoxford.com, a website promoting Oxford pubs and providing discounts for students and tourists. He is also in the process of setting up a social media consultancy, which is supported by his studies in business and marketing management. He is currently looking for a placement within a digital marketing agency starting in September 2012. Outside of his studies Nick is a keen swimmer (when he gets round to it), is a qualified watersports instructor and one day hopes to travel the world. Coren Hanley, Communications Director

Coren is a final year student studying Business and Marketing Management. After completing a placement year with American Express, she is eager to work in marketing within an international business environment, desirably in New York. Guillermo Martinez, Finance Director

Guillermo is a Spanish student studying a degree in International Business Management. He joined the committee as the Finance Director straight after completing a year placement in Microsoft, working for the EMEA Retail Department doing Sales & Marketing Analysis. Guillermo has interest in starting his own business as well as the application of creativity in the business world, which were the main reasons he decided to join the society. Throughout his life he has lived in several cities such as Barcelona (where he was born), Madrid, Paris, Vienna and London. Guillermo also likes getting involved in other university activities. In his second year of university, he was the captain of the Oxford Brookes Indoor Football team. In his spare time he likes to play golf, football and travel to new places.

Arun Paudel, Public-Relations Director

A final year student of Business and Management, Arun hails from Nepal. Before coming to the UK, he has worked as a journalist in the foremost business and management monthly of his country, interviewing several entrepreneurs, leaders, politicians, bureaucrats and similar, and published articles addressing national issues. Piano comes as his first love after creative writing and he enjoys them both whenever he can steal the time to do so. Arun is also extensively involved in other activities within the university – he’s a Student Representative, a Student Ambassador and a Blogger for International Students Advisory Services (ISAS). He also volunteers in organising events for Nepalese Community Oxfordshire, UK.
